How to Make Your Homestead or Small Farm Profitable

When starting out in the farming business it can be very daunting. However no matter how many difficulties you go through it always helps to remember why you started it in the first place and what your goal is.

In this article I will be listing several options for monetizing your farm!

Farmer’s Markets are my number one favorite. Depending on which market you go to there is typically a really good customer basis of people who want to eat healthy and buy directly from the farmer.

CSA, which stands for Community Supported Agriculture, is great way to connect with the community and have funds in the spring throughout the summer to for bills and growth.

Farm to Table Delivery, if you live outside of a larger town or city offering a delivery service from your farm can increase orders from customers who might not otherwise come out to the farm or market.

Online Shipping, create an online business where customers can order and have their meat shipped directly to their doorstep!

Farm Store, customers LOVE coming out to the farm to get their groceries. It helps them feel more connected to their producer as well as their food. Opening up as small Farm Stand does wonders for a farm.

These are just a few of the ways you can market your farm and create a business however the possibilities are endless as long as your have the desire, endurance and patience to see it through!
